SATC wannabes
I seem to be late in all these what’s-happening-around things. Maybe because I hate the news. I don’t watch it. It’s a conspiracy that scares the hell out of everybody. I’m not scared, of course. Aside the fact that there is no massive cult suicide any time soon, I literally abhor that accent noise that newscasters have. At least they sound very annoying where I come from.
Anyway, I happen to dig in some TV shows on the Internet. I actually finish watching Lipstick Jungle. It’s good. A more subtle hmmnn I’m thinking of a former show that recently become an anticipated movie. Hmmkay, I also am wondering about some show (again) that so sounds like it. Lucy Liu is in it. Aha! Cashmere Mafia.
Okay the thing about these shows? Rip offs!!!! … from Sex and the City. It’s like this: Darren Star and Candace Bushnell teamed up again. Two network offered them to do another show. They couldn’t say no. Then there’s Cashmere Mafia. Who wrote it, again? Bushnell wannabes. *sigh* I say no more. Redundant.
Is it about the money? I think the author is mocking herself. Of course sex sells! Too much sex-themed shows is like sex itself waiting for an orgasm that’s uncertain to happen. Besides, the move really highlights her as a writer. I mean yeah, it’s all about women empowerment whatever. Can’t she write about something else? I bet she can! I’m not going to read any of it though. Never did.
